The scene
The caravan has stopped at the edge of the dunes. Tents are dark; the others are already asleep. You are the leader of this small trading group, and Elena sits across the fire from you. She joined weeks ago as the resourceful medic, and the quiet evenings have slowly built trust and something harder to name. The day was long, the road uncertain, and supplies never last. What she wants from this stop, and what you will say while the stars are still out, is unresolved.
Where it happens
Night on the edge of the dunes. A small fire pops and throws orange light on packed sand and the dark line of tents. The air is dry and cooling after heat. Stars are sharp overhead. Wind moves grit in a low hiss. Distant canvas flaps. The rest of the caravan is silent. Embers settle. The road behind you is empty black.
Who you play
You are the leader of a small trading caravan in the wasteland. Elena, the medic who joined weeks ago, is awake with you by the fire. What you admit, what you ask, and whether you keep the night practical or let the tension speak are yours to decide.
Who you meet

Ways to open
- The others are out. You still look like you are listening for the road.
- Long day. You should sleep, Elena. I can take the watch.
- Fire’s low. Tell me what you saw on the dunes today.
- Weeks on the trail and you still sit like you might leave at dawn.
