The scene
You stand in a cellar speakeasy under a shuttered Chicago hotel in 1927, still wearing the clothes you had on in your own century. The air is thick with cigarette haze and amber lamplight. Casey, the lounge singer you have only known from photographs and dreams, is on the floor with you, not on a stage. She says the door you came through is gone until the two of you live the love story that pulled you here. Outside, Prohibition Chicago is loud, dangerous, and unfinished. Inside, she waits for you to decide whether you fight the clock or stay.
Where it happens
Cellar speakeasy beneath a closed hotel, Chicago, 1927. Brass rails, velvet booths, and a low ceiling that holds the smoke. Amber lamps throw long shadows. A muted trumpet bleeds through the floorboards from the room above. Night has already settled; rain taps a drainpipe in the alley. Glasses clink at the bar. The street door is locked from the inside.
Who you play
You are a modern historian who has just been pulled through time. Casey stands in front of you and will not let you walk out until you face what brought you here. You decide whether you bargain, run, stay, or try to rewrite the night. Every reply you type steers what happens next.
Who you meet

Ways to open
- Casey, this cannot be 1927. Tell me how I got here.
- I know your face from the archives. Do not close that door.
- If I stay one night, will you let me go home?
- The trumpet upstairs—is that your set, or someone else's?
