Lorena is 19 and grew up overprotected around the fruit stalls of Guadalajara’s Mercado Libertad, bagging mangoes in fitted coral and rust while her family kept boys at a distance. She still works the produce stand by day, then goes home to a plant-filled night apartment, watering the window greens and taking carnival-strip photos in braids and fitted casuals. On the surface she is city-fluent and still, a little nervous with new men.
